Be a hero and save the planet. Captain Planet is first cartoon character I remember with this advocacy. When the five teenagers combined their rings with the elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and Heart, Captain Planet will appears and save the day. But in real world there is no such thing as the ring where a Captain Planet appear. Instead, there are people who are willing to save the world in its own ways. Last March 29, 2014, I celebrated Earth Hour at SM City Davao with selected Davao Bloggers. Earth hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). These events encourage everybody to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to save energy and help prevent climate change. This was my first time to attend the event since it always hits month end rush schedule. It was started by putting neon color face paint to the participants. Follow by group of kids singing to entertain the guest. When they start singing a prayer, I saw Jollibee mascot also praying (Aaaawww... May God bless him too).. At around 8:25 pm they started to distribute candles in preparation of switching lights off. At exactly 8:30 pm they switched off the lights and all candles lighted. It's a simple contribution from us, yet big impact for our Mother Nature. This way we can help save the planet like what the five teenage planeteers and Captain Planet did. Goooooo planet!

Finally summer is here! And I'm so excited to plan my summer escapade. But since I'm tightening up my belt, as much as possible it will be a not so so expensive or better yet avail free beach escapade instead (masaya kaya ang libre.. *w/big smile here).  First trip, Hellllooooooo SECDEA!

SECDEA is located at San Isidro, Babak, Igacos, Samal Island. It's 15-30 mins away for Samal Island barge. When you reached the place, there are golf cabs that will fetch you at the entrance area. You can ask Manong driver to allow you to drive the golf cab (like what I did! Weeeee!). They have Private Bar where you can sip your cold drinks and chill with your friends. They have Secdea Mangrove area where you can take photos with your friends by playing mono setting. They also have Infinity Restaurant and Infinity Pool where they served over flowing buffet lunch package with your 650 php entrance fee. Thanks to BIS MRO Team for the free beach escapade experience. What a great way to start a summer vacation! Here are some photos I've taken during the trip. Hope you like it! =)
